Happy New Year! *pops confetti poppers* It's been quite some time! I thought I would update you all to the past few months of my life and some of my questions for what I'm going to do next!

Well, I actually just finished my degree COMPLETELY. I've graduated and now nearly have my licensure, which I did Student Teaching for from August-December. So in all honesty, that is most of what I have been doing. ^^' There has been no consistency to my artwork at all because of it. I have a couple of works that I can update this site with (two paintings, in fact), but I've been wondering what to do with this site, in general.

Firstly, I was thinking of changing the name. I've been a "Deviant" on here for 6 years now, and I believe that I have grown far beyond where I was at six years ago. "SelexiaOfTheHeart" made a reference to things that I was involved in those six years ago, and now the name is not as applicable. I was debating on whether to change it to match my personal/art tumblr account that I have. This is looking more and more like a possibility the more that I think about it! I'll make sure to let you all know of that change, if I choose to enact it. :)

Secondly, my other thought was to limit this DeviantArt account to my traditional artwork, such as my drawings and paintings. I would eliminate my past cosplays on here and might create a new account where I can feature those cosplays. It's the start of a new year and although I appreciate what my past art has done for me, getting me to the place that I am at today, I don't believe that it is very representational of my skills at their current level. :) I want to represent myself as an artist with what I am currently capable of. As for the cosplay things, I do still cosplay, and for those of you who are interested in following my cosplay work, I would certainly give you that link if I did create it :) I don't want to simply disappear from the cosplay community. I just know that it is hard to show my traditional work and represent myself as a traditional artist while also representing myself as a cosplayer. Anyone that has thoughts on this, or suggestions or experience with this: I would really appreciate you leaving me a comment down below and tell me of what you think! ^_^

As for a New Years resolution... a lot has changed over the past year for me. My main goal is to do at least one piece of artwork, a completed work, every month! ^_^ I want to see myself grow, and now that I'm out of my own education, I think now is the time to really let loose!!!!!

July Update

3 min read
*glances around and opens Journal*
*blows the dust off of the top, coughing ensues*

Hi there, everyone. It's been quite a while since I've updated here. I think it's been about a year, to be honest. But regardless, I hope you all are doing well. This past year has been quite a crazy one! What with my last year of university coming and going (YES, I graduated! Scary, I know) as well as a very busy schedule... I'm afraid I haven't had much time to really dust off dA. I've been thinking recently about whether I should give my profile/site here a bit of an overhaul. Maybe take down some of the pictures that aren't quite representative of the quality that I'm at now, or whether to just put them all into a dump folder of sorts of "Old Work," so it could be mixed with any sorts of pictures, art or cosplay or what have you. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Despite not much physical evidence of it here, I have been doing a LOT of cosplaying recently. What with adding a very... regular character into my arsenal, I've had a lot of attention for that. But as far as things that are upcoming, I thought I would give you all a breakdown of what's upcoming for me!

Otakon 2014
-Hungary/Elizaveta (Hetalia): I will once again be cosplaying Hungary, but for a different purpose. We have a Magic Trio working together, and my Romania suggested that I be Hungary for this. Seeing as we ship RoHun (as well as my ship of PruHun, don't you worry~), I figured that I would make a design for her to compliment and match Romania as well as the magic theme.
-Nagisa (Free! Iwatobi Swim Club): Thankfully, this one I have already debuted at Katsucon earlier this year, but maybe now I can be not-weather-challenged! AND relevant since the new season is currently airing!
-Ritsu Onodera (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi): You all might remember that I was Ritsu a little while back in a winter outfit. I figured I would do the whole thing, spruce him up a little bit... and I will have a Takano-san, as well as a Kisa-san and Yukina-san, with me as well! I feel like I should carry manga pages with big red X's on them from Takano's editing as props! *teehee*
-England/Arthur Kirkland (Hetalia): So IF things work out nicely, I will have one part of the day where I get to be Magic!England for the Magic Trio! Another possibility that my America really wants to do is FIFA World Cup outfits and I'd really like to participate in that as well! (I know, ANOTHER relevant and weather-appropriate cosplay, Lisa? What are you thinking?!)

As far as some other plans that are up in the air, I know we have been talking about Anime USA 2014, Katsucon 2015, and then Midoricon 2015 next year, so we'll see how this goes! Not being a true STUDENT-student will be adjusting things for me, but I'm trying to make them all work out!
Some other cosplays that I have in mind are Naegi Makoto from Dangan Ronpa, Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon (most likely the first movie), Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan, and a new outfit for England~

Otakon 2013

6 min read
My my, everything really has changed here in dA since I last wrote... What's a Sta.sh Writer?  Anywhoodles, hello everyone!  I just got back from Otakon and let me tell you, the Post-Con-Depression is already hitting me pretty hard!  I'll be giving you all a nearly-full recap, but FIRSTLY!  I just realized that I have over 50+ followers on here!  I have 62, in fact!  So I'd like to thank all of you, followers old and new!  I'm always interesting in talking to those who follow me, so if you have any ideas of things you'd like to see more of from me--cosplay, paintings, drawings, etc-- please send them in!  Comment here, write me a note, what have you! ^_^  I'll be finishing up work this week and hopefully I'll be getting my Otakon pictures back soon, so you guys will have a lot to look at!  I'm trying to get some editing done to them so you'll see them soon!  :iconsinatrafan4life: and I, as well as a lot of new and old friends, had a pretty good time at the convention!  It was kinda like a rollercoaster, with very good parts and very bad parts.  But I'll let you guys see what I mean! ^_^

----------OTAKON----------
THURSDAY: This year, we went up on a Thursday, which seems like a blur to me.  After sleeping for maybe 3 hours, I woke up early (around 7am?) and started working on my Rev!Coat once again.  I pretty much didn't stop, except for food and to spend some time with my Mom since it was her birthday.  We finished the coat at about 5:00-5:15pm when I threw my stuff into a bag, nearly rolled it down the stairs (HAHA), and threw it into the car and was on my way!  Traffic was HORRENDOUS to pick up :iconsinatrafan4life: , but I finally got there!  Then we had to work to getting up to Baltimore... Long story short, I pulled out probably a third of my hair trying to drive there since traffic was so horrendous (THANKS, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND JZ..... They had their concert that night TT_TT also in Baltimore...).  But we parked at 9:49pm.  The registration would close at 10:00pm.  So we grabbed our wallets and phones and ran about 4-5 blocks to the convention center and then through it.  Got through registration and then went to the hotel where we found out that our hotel room had been messed up!  Instead of two queen beds as we were promised, we got one queen.  They were out of cots and blankets.  So the seven of us buckled down: three took the bed, one took the couch [ :icondyspro: ], and three of us grabbed the floor.  We layered up on blankets and sleeping bags, but it was not a comfortable night.  :iconsinatrafan4life: and :icondyspro: were so nice as to help me sew on the final touch for my coat: the buttons.  We finished around 2am and then hit the hay!

FRIDAY: Friday was extremely eventful!  My friend had multiple photoshoots so the day was very busy.  :iconsinatrafan4life: and I dressed in our Rev!England and America from Hetalia outfits and tried to walk to find our friends' photo shoot.  We got a bit lost so we turned back, were told we had to go and get our weapons checked, so we spent a lot of time going back and forth to get that situated.  We finally made it to the Hetalia photoshoot at noon.  We got quite a few pictures taken of us, and after the USUK one, I lifted my rifle into the air, yelled "RETREAT!" and we left for other adventures!  Friday was filled with more photoshoots, lots of Jimmy Johns, and realizing that our wonderful friend, :iconfleebites: , was in the artist alley!

SATURDAY: I awoke early on Saturday (this became a theme) and we dressed again in Rev!attire.  There was a photoshoot at 12 for the Hetalia group again, but this time, we got to be inside!  Many photos were taken and a lot of feels ensued!  Between our Revolutionary outfits and the Monarchy of Spades, there was DEFINITELY no shortage of USUK feels!  After the shoot, we went around to artist alley and dealers, did a few other things.  I changed into Magnus Bane for a little while with my Alec, :icondyspro: .  Then afterwards, we rested and I went over to Kristina's to borrow a new friend, Zero/Lauren's, England uniform!  We did a HILARIOUS bar scene photo shoot with our lovely Romano and Spain as our waiters!  Then I was informed that Kristina had gotten the hook-up for us to get a VERY LEGIT photoshoot done!  I don't want to spoil too much for you guys, but honestly, I didn't get into bed until 4am on Sunday!

SUNDAY: I woke up early again and attempted to wake my Alfred up with the promise of donuts.  We went to Duncan Donuts (a con-fav of mine) and picked up some there (yes, Arthur likes Boston Cream donuts~).  Then we came back, changed into Rev!attire again and went around to hit dealers and artist alley again.  We said good bye to many good friends, new and old, then went to Noodles and Co. ( <3 ) for lunch.  Afterwards, we had a photo shoot out by the U.S.S. Constellation in the Inner Harbor! >w< It was like Disney for us, as if we were one of the characters!  We had tons of people come up to us, requesting poses and asking for pictures with the kids or even with their grandparents!  It was a ton of fun!  Afterwards, we said goodbye, got into the car, and headed off!  We had a great time, dressed up in character, getting our supper at a local McDonalds who actually thought I was English! XD  Hopefully, videos will be up soon!

But yes, that was Otakon in a nutshell!  Again, photos will be up soon and you guys should definitely check out :iconsinatrafan4life: for awesome photos and work, too! ^_^ She's already gotten a few up, so check her out!  Until later, guys! ^_^

Hey, all!  Hope your summer is going well for you!  Mine I suppose truly just started!  I've had a crazy, crazy past week and I thought I'd fill you guys in!

----------SCREEN PRINTING----------
In the end, I really enjoyed this class MUCH more than I thought that I would!  I was nervous, but I think I came out with some pretty good work!  I'm particularly fond of Sleep Without Dreams, which I really think is my best work done in that class! I have a packet to try screen printing at home, so we'll see if I come up with anything else.  I was thinking about putting up the photoshop originals of what the print's templates were, if you guys would be interested? *I wonder who actually reads these... o.o *

----------GRADUATION----------
So my little brother (one of them) just graduated from high school!  Going on into the big world of college! ... and yes, I'm terrified for him .____.  But I know he'll be great; he always has been.  But pretty much, as soon as I got home from classes, it was time to get to work on parties!  I think everything went very well, we had a party on Sunday with about 60-80 people at the house, coming in and out.  Actual Graduation ceremony was on Monday, and then we had the grandparents over for dinner.

----------WORK----------
So, as of yesterday, I started my first day back at work.  I was there from 5:30pm-2:30am.... NOT A HAPPY LISA. :(  At least it's money, though, right?  So that I can be happy about!  And it's good work with good people!  Just very long hours when you're on floor set detail :(  Anyone else have to work crazy hours with something like this? :)

----------COSPLAY----------
I can't remember what I've told you all that I'm going, but I will be going to Otakon!  I need the money for the ticket, but I WILL be there!  I have my cosplay list pretty much figured out.  I'll have definitely 2 outfits with one surprise and one MAYBE outfit!  Any ideas what they'll be? :) START GUESSING, you shall find out soon enough!
Also, any ideas for who I should cosplay?  Please leave a comment down below if you think of anyone!  Or, if you like a specific outfit of mine, leave me an idea for the kind of outfit I could do for the character or a theme or a photograph idea, or a title with a character that I get to figure out how to represent it!

Again, hope you guys are doing well! ^_^ Let me know what's going on with you guys; I love to hear from you watchers! ^_^

Oh, and lastly..... I have succumbed... I have given in.... I'm..... watching.... Supernatural..... XD

Summer Time~

5 min read
Hey there, everyone!  Hope your semester is going/went well!  I just finished up my Spring semester, so I thought I'd drop by and actually tell you all how it went and what my plans are!

----------PAST SEMESTER----------
Sculpture: It went really well!  I'm surprised, actually!  The projects were cool and very thought- and process-oriented.  For example, we had one project about making domesticity nomadic.  If you had to take something domestic with you everywhere, how would you do it?  So I made a Biblioplow, a cross between a Library/Bookshelf (Biblio-) and then the knowledge that it held was about agriculture, so I made a plow attachment for the back of it.  It used wheelbarrow technology to move (two handles with a singular wheel).  I will soon put up all of the pictures for everything, but I'm rather proud!  We had to go out into the community and "perform" with it, so I drove mine around downtown!  Since this project took the majority of the semester, we had a very small final project, but it was VERY process-oriented.  We had to come up with a set of directions to navigate you around areas of our local neighborhood that we'd never gone before.  For example "At the first corner, flip a coin.  Heads is right, tails is left.  At the next corner, whichever corner has a tree that's closest to you, that's the direction you will go."  Things like that!  It's meant to break us out of our habit of going the same ways and places everyday.  These paths were traced on a map as a sort of drawing.  At the end of each walk (you had to do about 4-5), you would pick up an object from that area that sort of represents it.  That object has to be altered (paint, broken, bigger, etc.), and then have a replica made of it.  You could even use a photograph as a replica, so it really brought up some interesting themes!  My project will be up for you guys to see, although, there is a bit of a story behind it! XD
Fibers:  The year ended well; my project was difficult to hang up for my final, but I made it work.  We had to alter the body somehow, so I came up with an interesting way to do that!  I wish there were better pictures of it, but our display area in our building is TERRRRRRIBLE.
Ceramics:  This ended really well!  I got an A for the semester (WOOHOOOOOO!) and came out with some really great stuff and interesting pieces!  I'm in the process of taking pictures of them all.  Do any of you have experience taking good photos of ceramics for display?   Any suggestions on how to do this?
Art Ed: Practicum went well; I learned A LOT from this year!  Mainly that I really want to teach middle school or high school! XD  But I have a new respect for those who teach elementary.  The children were adorable and so sweet to me!  I really enjoyed getting cards from them to wish me good luck and to have a good summer <3
Modern Architecture:  This class, BY FAR, was my favorite of the year!  I was so worried going into it, and it was my most mentally grueling class besides Art Ed... but it was well-worth it!  My professor is one of my favorite people and most influential people on this earth!  He really gets us and really strives to push and challenge us.  The experience was amazing and I can't describe it well enough to anyone without being in person.  I'm waiting for my final!  I can't wait!

----------MAY-MESTER----------
So the sad news is that I have to take a summer course... No, I'm not looking forward to it.  Well, I sort of am, because it's screen printing; which I have NO experience with. Do any of you guys have experience with it?  Want to fill me in? But yes, so my spotty appearances might continue for another month, although I hope they don't...

----------PLANS FOR FUN FOR THE SUMMER----------
ALTHOUGH I have to take the course, I do have some plans!  For example, this Friday, I'm going down to go to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens (*COUGH*HETALIA*COUGH*) with some friends in honor of the ending semester and someone's graduation!  Then I'll be going to the B.A.P CONCERT!!!!! I'M SO EXCITED, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!  This'll be my first K-pop concert! >w<  I'm really so thrilled, I couldn't be more excited!  Now I just have to figure out what to wear...
But along with all of these fun things, there are my cosplay endeavors!  I have a lot in the works, due to me starting to collaborate more with :iconsinatrafan4life: on some possible CMVs that are up and coming! ^_^  So look out for more stuff, guys!

Also, any requests for ideas for what I should cosplay?  I'd be interested to hear what you all think! ^_^
