My my, everything really has changed here in dA since I last wrote... What's a Sta.sh Writer? Anywhoodles, hello everyone! I just got back from Otakon and let me tell you, the Post-Con-Depression is already hitting me pretty hard! I'll be giving you all a nearly-full recap, but FIRSTLY! I just realized that I have over 50+ followers on here! I have 62, in fact! So I'd like to thank all of you, followers old and new! I'm always interesting in talking to those who follow me, so if you have any ideas of things you'd like to see more of from me--cosplay, paintings, drawings, etc-- please send them in! Comment here, write me a note, what have you! ^_^ I'll be finishing up work this week and hopefully I'll be getting my Otakon pictures back soon, so you guys will have a lot to look at! I'm trying to get some editing done to them so you'll see them soon!
and I, as well as a lot of new and old friends, had a pretty good time at the convention! It was kinda like a rollercoaster, with very good parts and very bad parts. But I'll let you guys see what I mean! ^_^
----------OTAKON----------
THURSDAY: This year, we went up on a Thursday, which seems like a blur to me. After sleeping for maybe 3 hours, I woke up early (around 7am?) and started working on my Rev!Coat once again. I pretty much didn't stop, except for food and to spend some time with my Mom since it was her birthday. We finished the coat at about 5:00-5:15pm when I threw my stuff into a bag, nearly rolled it down the stairs (HAHA), and threw it into the car and was on my way! Traffic was HORRENDOUS to pick up
, but I finally got there! Then we had to work to getting up to Baltimore... Long story short, I pulled out probably a third of my hair trying to drive there since traffic was so horrendous (THANKS, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND JZ..... They had their concert that night TT_TT also in Baltimore...). But we parked at 9:49pm. The registration would close at 10:00pm. So we grabbed our wallets and phones and ran about 4-5 blocks to the convention center and then through it. Got through registration and then went to the hotel where we found out that our hotel room had been messed up! Instead of two queen beds as we were promised, we got one queen. They were out of cots and blankets. So the seven of us buckled down: three took the bed, one took the couch [
], and three of us grabbed the floor. We layered up on blankets and sleeping bags, but it was not a comfortable night.
and
were so nice as to help me sew on the final touch for my coat: the buttons. We finished around 2am and then hit the hay!
FRIDAY: Friday was extremely eventful! My friend had multiple photoshoots so the day was very busy.
and I dressed in our Rev!England and America from Hetalia outfits and tried to walk to find our friends' photo shoot. We got a bit lost so we turned back, were told we had to go and get our weapons checked, so we spent a lot of time going back and forth to get that situated. We finally made it to the Hetalia photoshoot at noon. We got quite a few pictures taken of us, and after the USUK one, I lifted my rifle into the air, yelled "RETREAT!" and we left for other adventures! Friday was filled with more photoshoots, lots of Jimmy Johns, and realizing that our wonderful friend,
, was in the artist alley!
SATURDAY: I awoke early on Saturday (this became a theme) and we dressed again in Rev!attire. There was a photoshoot at 12 for the Hetalia group again, but this time, we got to be inside! Many photos were taken and a lot of feels ensued! Between our Revolutionary outfits and the Monarchy of Spades, there was DEFINITELY no shortage of USUK feels! After the shoot, we went around to artist alley and dealers, did a few other things. I changed into Magnus Bane for a little while with my Alec,
. Then afterwards, we rested and I went over to Kristina's to borrow a new friend, Zero/Lauren's, England uniform! We did a HILARIOUS bar scene photo shoot with our lovely Romano and Spain as our waiters! Then I was informed that Kristina had gotten the hook-up for us to get a VERY LEGIT photoshoot done! I don't want to spoil too much for you guys, but honestly, I didn't get into bed until 4am on Sunday!
SUNDAY: I woke up early again and attempted to wake my Alfred up with the promise of donuts. We went to Duncan Donuts (a con-fav of mine) and picked up some there (yes, Arthur likes Boston Cream donuts~). Then we came back, changed into Rev!attire again and went around to hit dealers and artist alley again. We said good bye to many good friends, new and old, then went to Noodles and Co. ( <3 ) for lunch. Afterwards, we had a photo shoot out by the U.S.S. Constellation in the Inner Harbor! >w< It was like Disney for us, as if we were one of the characters! We had tons of people come up to us, requesting poses and asking for pictures with the kids or even with their grandparents! It was a ton of fun! Afterwards, we said goodbye, got into the car, and headed off! We had a great time, dressed up in character, getting our supper at a local McDonalds who actually thought I was English! XD Hopefully, videos will be up soon!
But yes, that was Otakon in a nutshell! Again, photos will be up soon and you guys should definitely check out
for awesome photos and work, too! ^_^ She's already gotten a few up, so check her out! Until later, guys! ^_^
